[Condolence Memo] Extending our sincerest condolences for the loss of Professor Tohru Suzuki

Dear Alumni and Friends of UGSAS, GU

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Professor Tohru Suzuki, who was a vice dean of UGSAS, GU during 2008-2015. He was a leading expert in microbiology, especially in bifidobacteria, and was highly admired for his excellent achievements. He passed away on 1st January 2022 from a sudden disease (acute aortic dissection). We would like to offer our sincere condolences for the loss of him.
It was often the case that many faculties and students gathered around him and talked over a beer with laughter and his wide knowledge. It was fun of us. How we wish we could drink with him again. We, however, believe he must drink barrels of beer on Heaven.
