Notice: Change in the Entrance Examination for the Entrance in 2026
Change in Qualifications to Apply for the English Program for International Students

The United Graduate School of the Agricultural Science, Gifu University will change the qualification for the entrance examination of the English Program for International Students for the entrance in 2026 (examination in 2025) as follows.
Qualifications for Application
Applicants should meet all of the following qualifications.

<Before the change>
(1) Applicants who have been conferred a Master's degree or who are expected to be conferred a Master's degree.
(2) Applicants should be academically outstanding international students with the ability to obtain a doctorate within three years of enrollment in the program.
(3) Applicants should be recommended by his/her direct supervisor such as academic supervisors at their graduate school, directors at government agencies or private companies.
(4) Applicants should meet at least one of the following requirements to show English proficiency.

• • 1 TOEFL iBT: 45 points or more
  • 2 TOEFL ITP: 520 points or more
  • 3 TOEIC Listening & Reading Test (or TOEIC-IP): 600 points or more
  • 4 IELTS: 5 points or more

  • 2 IELTS: 5.5 points or more

• MyPage registration must be made prior to the application. Please visit the following website to start the online application registration process: https://e-apply.jp/ds/gifu-gs/

• A password is required for the applicants who meet the conditions described below* to go through the procedure. Please inquire before application.
  * Applicant who will complete any of the master's courses of Gifu University and Shizuoka University and wish to continue post-graduate courses at UGSAS, Gifu University.
  * Foreign students who have received a Japanese Government Scholarship.
  * As a special measure, Gifu University will waive the examination fee for applicants who have been affected by a major natural disaster. Please refer to the Gifu University website (https://www.gifu-u.ac.jp) for details.
• A password is required for applicants who apply for "Special Admission for International Students (*Exception)" to go through the procedure. Please inquire before applying.
• Application Handbook and Application Form have not been prepared in paper form, so please download the data and prepare the application documents.

* Exceptions: Those who have a Master's degree / are expected to complete a Master's Course at the member universities of the consortium (see the list below) are able to take an exam throughout a year from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026. (Inquire before applying)
For the Adimmison in April 2026, the application period is from June 2, 2025 to Decemeber 19, 2025.
For the Adimmison in October 2026, the application period is from June 2, 2025 to May 29, 2026.
