Application for the Preliminary Screening of MEXT Scholarship 2019 is now open (by 23 Jan.)

As one of the activites of IC-GU, UGSAS, GU would like to announce you that the application for the Preliminary Screening of MEXT Scholarship is now open. This scholarship is for UGSAS, GU Fostering Leadership Program in Agricultural Science and Biotechnology. It aims at fostering students to be high-level professionals who comprehend environmental and food issues in Asia, where a rapid economic growth arises, and have a broad perspective and a capability to identify and solve the problems. You can start your study in Gifu University or Shizuoka University from October 2019 under the financial supporting of 144,000 JPY for MsC and 145,000 JPY for PhD per a month.
Who can apply?
Students who have obtained or awaiting to obtain a bachelor/ master degree or academic staffs teaching at the respective universities given below and were born on April 2, 1984 or later :
Bangladesh : University of Dhaka / Bangladesh Agricultural University
India : Assam University / Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati
Indonesia : Andalas University / Bogor Agricultural University / Gadjah Mada University /
Bandung Institute of Technology / Sebelas Maret University / University of Lampung
Thailand : Chulalongkorn University / Kasetsart University / King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi
Vietnam : Hanoi University of Science and Technology / Thuyloi University
Laos : Laos National University
Number of Acceptance:
- 2 for Master's Degree Course (2 years)
- 2 for Doctor's Degree Course (3 years)

- (2) The scanned copy of the certificate of your English score such as TOEFL iBT or IELTS, or Japanese language level by JLPT.
B2 grade in CEFR or more is the minimum requirement for the acceptance, or N2 level or more in Japanese language test by JLPT.
