The UGSAS-GU would like to announce you that "International Symposium on a New Era in Food Science and Technology 2019" will be held on October 9 -10, 2019 at the Main Seminar room in 6 Floor of the UGSAS-GU Building. In addition, UGSAS-GU & BWEL Joint Poster Session on Agricultural and Basin Water Environmental Science will be held during the symposium.

Food science is an important discipline not only for maintaining human life, but also for developing the quality of life of people. Research on food quality improvement and research on food safety and functionality for promoting human health are becoming increasingly important. This international symposium provides extensive information on scientific and technological progress in a new era that is changing what we want for food. It deals with current technology, identifies key issues, and discusses effective solutions.

The UGSAS-GU is pleased to inform you that "The 6th UGSAS-GU Roundtable Meeting" will be held on 16th October, 2018 at Jyuroku Plaza near JR Gifu station. This meeting is one of important activities in the INTERNATIONAL CONSORTIUM OF UNIVERSITIES IN SOUTH AND SOUTHEAST ASIA FOR THE DOCTORAL EDUCATION IN AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE AND BIOTECHNOLOGY (IC-GU12). In this time, we will discuss following topics;

1. Mariano Marcos State University's accession to the IC-GU12
2. Bangladesh Agricultural University's accession to the IC-GU12
3. Progress report on Double / Dual PhD degree program
4. Progress report on Researchers and Students Exchange
5. Progress report on International Symposium and Workshop.

The delegations from each current member university need not to prepare their own presentation material in this roundtable meeting. The constructive opinions from participants are welcome.

The UGSAS-GU would like to inform you that "International Symposium on Animal Production and Conservation for Sustainable Development 2018" will be held on October 17-18, 2018 at the Main Seminar room in 6 Floor of the UGSAS-GU Building. In addition, UGSAS-GU & BWEL Joint Poster Session on Agricultural and Basin Water Environmental Science will be held during the symposium.
Animal production is a primary issue for stable food supply in the rapid growth of world population. It requires further increase of productivity and efficiency with more consideration to animal welfare. Animal conservation is another key issue for creating sustainable world. Many animals are now in danger of extinction, and we have responsible for both human and animal life as the coexisting species. This international symposium provides information about recent progress and practical framework in animal production, welfare and conservation for advancing sustainable development.

The United Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Gifu University (UGSAS-GU) will hold the 5^th International Workshop on Recent Progress in Agriculture and Water Management in Asia 2017 on November 27-28, 2017 at Thuyloi University (TLU), Hanoi, Vietnam. In the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Canh Thai, Vice Rector of TLU, and Assoc. Prof. Toshiaki Iida, University of Tokyo will deliver keynote speeches and 17 researchers from TLU, UGSAS-GU, Dhaka University (Bangladeshi), Lampung University (Indonesia), Selelas Maret University (Indonesia) will give a talk on each relating research topic and share the knowledge through an intensive discussion.
This workshop is hosted by TLU and UGSAS-GU as an activity of the International Consortium of Universities in South And Southeast Asia for the Doctoral Education in Agricultural Science and Biotechnology (IC-GU12).
